Every year in the month of October, 51做厙 pays homage to the literary great, Edgar Allen Poe. In 2021, this tradition has reached its 10th anniversary.
At 7:00 oclock students perform alongside Louann Holman and other actors, reciting
Poes greatest works. These include, The Tell-Tale Heart, Annabelle Lee, The
Bells, The Raven, and many more. Among these performers, Kaityln Lee and Jayden
Hyre showcased their theatre chops, through an almost ethereal production. Christopher
Parker, a sophomore, took the stage tonight for the first time with his rendition
of Miss Louis Olivia Hunter and Eulalie. All three delivered stunning recitals
alongside many talented performers. A crackling fire, embers lit in the air, as gothic
horrors unfold before the audiences eyes. Holman alongside other macabre costumed
story tellers, recite not only Poes work, but the classic Shakespearean beginning
of Macbeth, known as The Witches.
As usual, Poe Night was outstanding. The audience was one of the biggest ever seen, applauding as each executant told their story. A highlight of the HAC department events, the show never disappoints.
Poe Night at Trine has become a staple for getting its students into the Halloween spirit and always showcases gorgeous yet grotesque pieces from one of the worlds most famous authors by some of Trines most talented performers.
